Gemini's Deep Research in Google Workspace now pulls from your actual emails, Drive files, and Docs to synthesize project insights. Ask a research question, Gemini mines your organizational context plus the public web, and generates a comprehensive report in minutes instead of hours. Perfect for competitive analysis, project retrospectives, and stakeholder briefings.
Google Workspace's Gemini Deep Research feature conducts multi-source analysis by connecting directly to your business data. Previously, you had to manually upload individual files to supplement research. Now, Deep Research securely accesses Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and even Google Chat-giving Gemini full organizational context alongside public web research.
The workflow is simple. Open Gemini in any Workspace app (Docs, Chat, or the standalone Gemini web interface), click "Deep Research" from the Tools menu, and enter your question. Gemini creates a research plan, gathers insights from your Workspace content and public sources, and generates a comprehensive report-often with embedded charts, diagrams, and actionable recommendations-directly into a Google Doc.
For a product manager analyzing feature adoption, you could ask: "Analyze our Q3 campaign performance by synthesizing our internal project docs, customer emails, and web trends in our market." Gemini pulls performance metrics from Sheets, customer feedback from Gmail threads, relevant industry research from the web, and synthesizes everything into a single narrative report with visual summaries. No manual file shuffling, no copy-pasting between tools.
Deep Research is particularly valuable for competitive analysis (synthesize your internal strategy notes with market research), project retrospectives (combine team emails and docs into post-launch analysis), and client briefings (blend internal knowledge with external research into a polished report). Available for Google Workspace Business Standard and above with Gemini Advanced access.
